Job description Drilling Supervisor (Semi Submersible)

Supervision on a semi-sub rig drilling, completing and testing development, exploration and appraisal wells in water-depths up to 700ft, offshore Nigeria.
Operations involve the following special challenges:
  • High pressure / narrow margin drilling techniques,
  • High angle / extended reach drilling,
  • Subsea completions and well testing,
  • Third party staff, service and equipment quality,
  • Complex supply chain and logistics.

Requirements Drilling Supervisor (Semi Submersible)

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, of which at least 2 in a similar supervisory
    position on a Semi.
  • Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageous.
  • Technical / engineering qualification preferred.
  • BOSIET offshore firefighting and survival or equivalent, including HUET.
  • IWCF sub sea well control at supervisory level or equivalent.

  • 1 year renewable contract

Job description Technical Supernitendent

Reporting Relationships
  • The Technical Superintendent reports to the Technical Manager/Departmental Head of Marine Services.
  • The Technical Superintendent has a cooperative relationship with the HSE Manager, Marine Manager, IT Engineer and all technical crew on board of the vessels and a suppurtive action towards the neww build team.
Operational Roles and Responsibilities
Provide an on time, safe, reliable, and cost effective technical service operation for all operated vessels.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Identify, manage and monitor risks.
  • Advise on the technical operations of all vessels owned or operated by Marine Services.
  • Liaise closely with the vessels’ masters and chief engineers to ensure the vessels hulls, machinery and equipment are operated efficiently and maintained in good condition.
  • Ensure that all personnel under the control his are suitably qualified.
  • Assist in planning dry-docking and other significant material or services contracts.
  • Ensure the compliance of the vessels to the ISM Code within his area of responsibility and planned maintenance of the vessels is correctly applied.
  • To provide specialist advice and recommendations on all important technical issues affecting the vessels.
  • To identify opportunities to improve technical issues to increase customer service and company value.
  • To supervise and manage the Technical division within the planned maintenance system on all vessels and in the office.
  • To work in close relation with the procurement department and approve purchase orders and advise on spare parts, consumables and equipment for the vessels.
HSSE Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead by example in demonstrating the correct behaviour in implementing all HSE programs.
  • Recognize the ‘ownership' of health, safety and environmental control within their sphere of activity and lead by example. Require reporting Supervisors to demonstrate effective control over health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
  • Meet or exceed company and regulatory requirements and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure implementation of strategies through Performance and Results program.
  • Ensure that a chain of command exists whereby responsibility and authority for safetymatters are clearly determined, documented and understood.
  • Make arrangements for the necessary training, including induction training, of all personnel under their control in the safe working procedures relevant to their activities.
  • Ensure that all staff under their control are adequately qualified and experienced for the jobs they undertake.
  • Include health and safety objectives in job appraisal systems within their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure arrangements are in place for the co- ordination and control of Sub-Contractor activities.
  • Provide working conditions, which are justified as maintaining acceptable levels of safety and a healthy environment for all operations. Ensure all relevant workplace safety inspections etc take place.
  • Ensure that the relevant risk assessments are undertaken and reviewed. Ensure and maintain all safeguards and controls as required by the Safe System ofWork / Risk Assessment.
  • Ensure that there is adequate provision and necessary allocation of time for Health, Safety and Environmentalmanagement.
  • Communicate HSE Policy and Processes to supervisors and staff. Maintain effective consultation in respect of Health, Safety and Environmentalmanagement. Include Health, Safety and Environment as an agenda item in all meetings.
  • Attend HSE meetings.
  • Take action in accordance with the Company disciplinary procedures for those who are negligent in failing to follow established safety and environmental procedures or misuse equipment provided for their health and safety.
Quality Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system in compliance with ISO 9001.
  • Mentors fellow workers on quality principles and requirements.

Requirements Technical Supernitendent

Qualifications
  • Qualified Engineer preferably with Chief engineers experience.
  • Experience in similar position.
  • Experience on offshore vessels, preferably with DP.
Character
  • Knowledge of the technical lay out of the client fleet.
  • Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of principle discipline and peripheral subjects.
  • Strong co-ordination, organisation and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues
